Marten Transport recently added 500 newly styled containers to aid in the growth of their Intermodal business. The new containers will be used with a 53′ rental chassis. Marten has been transporting freight on the train with their regular 53-foot reefer trailers since 2006. Utilizing containers allows the railroads to double stack containers on a train versus single trailers. This will increase the volume of products transported yet not bottle up the railway. It also allows for quicker loading and unloading processes.
